City Summer Stroll
Hello August,
I bring you in with a shed—
really hoping for a clean start
longing for the life of an angel, helpmate
in existence
& nothing more.
no free will
ing wonky outta my boundary
it is written
with this life I’ve been given
all I feel is rage
Why, why?
I don’t like living this way
I’m not loving this way
Get me out
into the night time
Four walls won't hold me tonight
& if this town, is just an apple
then let me take a bite.
If they say why? Why?
Tell them that it's human nature
(Why does he do me this way)
I find myself
at the split path
against all the books and propaganda
there’s a someone inside
natural & unmale
& I choose me.
Why is there so much guilt in that?
carrying them like my buckets
of water. miles on end
blisters heal in saltwater
like my soul.
August sun,
please rise to burn me clean.
