Forever

I wanted poetry alive in my home

so I lit dry, white roses on fire

the

glory

of it all—

death to life to ash. it turns

out, a rose wants to be me. black & curling

we differ at her fight for life

tho we both dance in flames. it’s something

about being purified with rage—

go up knowing

you’re beautiful. & that’s enough.
